An Online Betting Glossary

Regardless of the fact that online gambling is now a many billion dollar business, and endless thousands of new players around the world log on daily to gamble at internet casinos, there are still millions of newcomers to the world of internet wagering who do not as yet have a clear comprehension of much of the jargon used in web wagering, and gambling on athletic event in general. Notwithstanding, knowledge of these terms is indispensable to understanding the games and policies of gambling:

ACTION: Any type of bet.

ALL-IN: In poker, all-in alludes to a gambler has put all of their money into the pot. A second pot is set up for the wagerers with additional chips.

ALL-UP: To bet on several horses in the same contest.

ANTE: A poker term for placing a specified value of money into the pot prior to the start of each hand.

BRING-IN: A mandatory wager in seven-card stud carried out by the player displaying the lowest value card.

BUST: You do not win; As in 21, when a player’s cards exceed a value over 21.

BUY-IN: The minimum value of chips necessary to get in a match or tournament.

CALL: As in poker, when a wager equals an already carried out bet.

CHECK: In poker, to stay in the match without betting. This is applicable only if no other gamblers bet in that round.

CLOSING A BET: As in spread wagering, meaning to put a bet equal to but opposite of the leading wager.

COLUMN BET: To bet on one or more of the three columns of a roulette table.

COME BET: In craps, the same as a pass-line bet, but made after the hurler has achieved their number.

COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters initial roll to achieve a point, or the first roll after a point is achieved.

COVERALL: A bingo term, meaning to fill all the numbers on a bingo card.

CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to toss a two, 3 or 12 is an automatic defeat on the come-out roll.

DAILY DOUBLE: To choose the champions of the 1st 2 races of the day.

DOWN BET: To wager that the outcome of an action will be smaller than the smallest end of the quote on a spread bet, also referred to as a "sell".

DOZEN BET: In roulette, to bet on one or more of three sets of twelve numbers, one-12, etc.

EACH WAY BET: A athletics gamble, meaning to gamble on a group or player to succeed or position in a game.

EVEN MONEY BET: A wager that pays the same value as gambled, ( 1-1 ).

EXACTA: wagering that two horses in a race will complete the race in the absolute same assignment as the wager – also known as a " Perfecta ".

FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a bet made on a grouping of 5 numbers, such as 1-2-3-0, and 00.
